MY STORY

I, like all of us, am many things but this website is devoted to my passion as a painter. Believing that art was a hobby and not a vocation, I spent 30 years studying and practicing as a naturopathic physician and acupuncturist. All the while, in my personal life, I maintained a continuous thread of creative expression as a ceramicist, a poet, a dancer, and a painter. Looking back I see that art was always my first love. My bedroom was filled with pencil and pastel drawings of my heroes and heroines. To deal with stressful times, I drew expressive self portraits and in school I took every art elective that I could.

In 2025, I closed the doors of my practice as a physician and took some time to unwind from the stress and responsibility of that life path. I turned to my art studio to rest before recommitting myself to a new vocation. I was surprised to discover a sense of peace, joy and freedom—and a deep knowing—that, in fact, painting is a true calling.

Now I am privileged to spend my days in the studio, moving between paintings in the dance of creation, clear that I am not the creator but the hand of some other force…soul, spirit, nature…I open to be one of the many voices given over to the expression of and invitation to embodying the rich, tender and beautiful collaboration with the Life.
